Freefall Baby, YEAH!

15 June 2010

For Sally Stevens, mum of James Stevens (Stage 3 Beijing to Vientane), when it comes to raising money for Follow That Fire Engine the sky is the limit. On Saturday 31st July this courageous lady will throw herself out of a perfectly working aeroplane, 12,000 feet above Swansea, strapped to someone she has only just met. Aside from taking advantage of James being on holiday and kindly submitting me the wonderful photo I had to ask Sally, quite literally,  what on earth was her motivation for the skydive;

“Well……………….. I’ve always wanted to do a Sky dive and I love heights, but, I needed an incentive, firstly to book it and secondly to make sure I don’t back out!  So I decided that if I fund raise it would be far too embarrassing to have to give the money back if I didn’t do it! When James told me about Steve’s fantastic (if slightly bizarre) plan to drive around the world in a Fire Engine raising money for three great charities, it was an easy choice to make.
I’m just jumping out of a plane …………………. you mad lot have got the world to do!!!!
Good Luck to you all.

I’ll be jumping at Swansea Airport on Saturday 31st July as long as the weather is OK and the nerve holds!”

Sally, everyone at FTFE is full of admiration and thanks for this challenge you have set yourself and wish you the very best of luck!
